South Coast Artists exhibition brings 112 works to Gallery X

The 2026 Members’ Invitational Exhibition organized by South Coast Artists Inc. is now on view at Gallery X in New Bedford, Massachusetts, through May 16. The show features 112 works by 61 artists selected from nearly 200 active members, spanning media such as photography, fiber, encaustic, porcelain, cyanotype, pastel, acrylic, oil, watercolor, mixed media, printmaking, digital art on metal, and found-object assemblages. Awards were presented at the opening reception on April 25, with first place going to Dot Bergen, second to Serena Parente Charlebois, and third to Robert Abele; juror’s choice awards were given to Diana Azevedo-Carns, Lindsey Epstein, and Heather Stivison, selected by independent juror Catherine Carter.

PSAD Student Art Exhibition returns, showcasing year of creativity

The Paducah School of Art and Design (PSAD) is hosting its annual student art exhibition, featuring works created during the 2025-2026 academic year. The exhibition includes ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital photography, audio and video, graphic design, print production, and digital art. An opening awards ceremony will take place on May 1, 2026, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with cash merit awards in categories such as 2D art, 3D art, digital media, and commercial graphic design. Additional honors include the President’s Choice Purchase Award and a Juror’s Choice Award, judged by former PSAD director and photography instructor Paul Aho. The exhibition runs from May 1 to 8 at the Bill Ford Gallery in Paducah.

Wyoming artists recognized at 2026 Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition awards reception

Governor Mark Gordon and the Wyoming State Museum honored 53 local artists during the 2026 Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition awards reception in Cheyenne. The event featured the presentation of the Juror’s Choice Award to Georgia Rowswell, alongside several Purchase Awards selected by state officials for the Capitol Art Collection. The exhibition, which serves as a tribute to America’s 250th anniversary, includes 62 works selected from nearly 400 submissions that celebrate the state's landscapes and communities.

Barrie artist wins Juror’s Choice Award at Unity in Diversity exhibition

The Museum of Dufferin and the Dufferin County Multicultural Foundation unveiled the fourth annual Unity in Diversity art exhibition on June 7 at the museum's Silo Gallery. The juried multicultural show features works by 18 artists from across Ontario and presented four awards: Juror's Choice, Youth Artist, Emerging Artist, and Best in Show. Barrie-based artist Faryal Shehzad won the Juror's Choice Award for her piece "Homecoming," while Kaiya Davoodian received the Youth Artist Award for "Glory to Ukraine." Other winners include Vishwa Patel (Emerging Artist) and Melissa Boodoo (Best in Show).

23rd Annual Student Art Show Celebrates Students’ Connection to the Santa Barbara Channel

On May 7, the community gathered at Jodi House Gallery for a reception and awards ceremony hosted by Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, celebrating the 23rd Annual Student Art Show. High school students from Carpinteria to Goleta submitted 120 pieces interpreting the Santa Barbara Channel, with 50 selected for the show. Awards were juried by Meagan Stirling, Associate Professor of Art at Westmont College. First place went to Aricin Marshall for his ceramic sculpture *Tide Bound – Hollister Ranch*, second to Josefa Olivio for *Channel Islands Fox*, and third to Jocabed Carranza for *After the Tide*. The Environmental Ethic Award was given to Maria Rojo for *Insufferable Freedom*, and the Juror’s Choice Award to Madeline Adler for *Sea Life vs. Pollution: The Ongoing Battle*. Honorable mentions included Sophia Lam, Alejandro Miranda, and Camila Sandoval.
