22 art exhibitions in L.A. to look forward to in 2026

Los Angeles is set for a major year in visual arts in 2026, with 22 notable exhibitions and events planned across the city. Highlights include the opening of the world’s first AI arts museum (Dataland), the long-awaited Lucas Museum, Yoko Ono’s first solo show in L.A., and the LA Art Show featuring Sylvester Stallone’s abstract works and a new Latin American Pavilion. Other exhibitions include a Selena retrospective at the Grammy Museum and a video art survey at the historic Variety Arts Theater.

The LA Art Show will launch its 31st edition from January 7–11, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, directed by Kassandra Voyagis. Featuring over 90 exhibitors, the fair introduces a new Latin American Pavilion curated by Marisa Caichiolo, focusing on memory, migration, and identity. It also returns with its non-commercial platform DIVERSEartLA, titled “The Biennials and Art Institutions in the Contemporary Art Ecosystem,” which examines the roles of biennials and museums through five installations and a video presentation. Participating galleries include Rehs Galleries, Inc., Gallery Artwall, Teranarva, and Oliver Sears Gallery, the first Irish gallery to join the fair.

The LA Art Show, now in its 31st edition, runs January 7–11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, featuring over 90 galleries including first-time participants from Ireland and San Francisco, alongside a solo exhibition of Sylvester Stallone's abstract paintings and works by Dr. Esther Mahlangu. Art Palm Beach follows January 28–February 1 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, debuting a large-scale installation by Eugenia Vargas-Pereira as part of the DIVERSEartPB program curated by Marisa Caichiolo, and highlighting Latin American artists through Building Bridges Art Exchange.
