Venice’s Chicest Invite This Week? A Pizza Party Where the Artists Chose the Ingredients

Diana Campbell, Chomwan Weeraworawit, and Paris-based art advisors Samy Ghiyati and Nicolas Nahab of NG Partners organized a pizza party called Pizzalo Mundo during the Venice Biennale. Each artist contributed an ingredient from home: Rirkrit Tiravanija brought a Penang coconut base, Precious Okoyomon added flowers, Daria Kim wild honey, Tarek Atoui za'atar on hummus, Miet Warlop artichoke hearts, Tori Wrånes self-grown potatoes, and Alexa Kumiko Hatanaka fig leaf oil with yuzu salt. The event drew a crowd of curators, directors, and collectors from institutions including Tate, Musée d'Orsay, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, MoMA, and Centre Pompidou.

New exhibition at Yorkville’s top gallery celebrates the 100th birthday of this famous artist

Mira Godard Gallery in Yorkville is hosting the Takao Tanabe 100th Birthday Exhibition this May, celebrating the centenary of the renowned Canadian landscape artist. Tanabe, born in 1926 in Seal Cove, B.C., studied at the Winnipeg School of Art and the Brooklyn Museum of Art School under Hans Hoffmann, later working in New York, London, and Japan before teaching at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The gallery has represented Tanabe for nearly 55 years, and the exhibition features paintings and prints directly from his studio, focusing on British Columbian and Prairie landscapes.

Seabreeze artists shine in OMAM’s Tradewinds exhibit

More than 100 works of art by Seabreeze High School students are on display at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum (OMAM) in Ormond Beach, Florida, for the annual 'Tradewinds' juried exhibit, running through May 24. The show features 2D and 3D art, including ceramics, jewelry, and mosaics, and is judged by OMAM's Guest Curator Ruth Grim, who holds a Master of Arts from the New York University Institute of Fine Arts.
