Plains Art Museum exhibit celebrates women artists

Plains Art Museum in Fargo has opened "Women Artists: Four Centuries of Creativity," a major exhibition running through March 1, 2026, in the Jane L. Stern Gallery. The show features 40 works from the museum's permanent collection alongside 37 works on loan from the Reading Public Museum, spanning etchings, engravings, lithographs, drawings, watercolors, woodblock prints, and photographs by canonical women artists. Highlights include a 1650 piece by Elisabetta Sirani, one of the earliest renowned female Renaissance artists. Museum Exhibitions Coming to East & South Texas in Spring 2026

Several museums in East and South Texas have announced their spring 2026 exhibition schedules. The Beeville Art Museum will open a solo show of landscape painter William Anzalone in January. The Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi will present 'In Nature’s Studio: Two Centuries of American Landscape Painting,' a traveling exhibition from the Reading Public Museum. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts will host a retrospective of photographer Frank Armstrong. The International Museum of Art and Science in McAllen will open three shows: 'Piñatabstract' by Josuè Rawmirez, 'Voces del Arte Popular' featuring Mexican folk art, and 'Aviary,' a bird-themed exhibition. South Texas College will also present two exhibitions in January and February, including Leila Hernández's 'The Lessons of the Empress.'

Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, is launching a major exhibition titled “Women Artists: Four Centuries of Creativity,” running from November 1, 2025, to March 1, 2026. ‘Shaun the Sheep’ exhibit to open at Reading Public Museum [Spotlight]

An interactive exhibit titled “Shaun the Sheep: Flock This Way!” will open at the Reading Public Museum in Pennsylvania on May 16 and run through September 6. Created by the Minnesota Children’s Museum in partnership with Aardman, the hands-on experience is designed for children ages 3 to 9 and features activities inspired by the popular film and television character, including balance boards, costume play, stop-motion animation, and problem-solving challenges. The exhibit is sponsored locally by the Berks County Community Foundation.
