Experience the Joy of “From MacArthur Park, with Love” at Charles White Elementary School

Charles White Elementary School in Los Angeles, in collaboration with LACMA, is presenting the exhibition "From MacArthur Park, with Love" opening May 21, 2025. The show features artworks by over 100 students from the school's Visual Arts Magnet program, celebrating the MacArthur Park neighborhood through diverse media including collaborative diptychs, observational drawings, and paintings of local landmarks and bird species. The exhibition runs Saturdays from May 23 to August 1, with free drop-in art workshops.

Blood-Red Landscapes by Andrew McIntosh Conjure the Terrifying Unknown

Scottish artist Andrew McIntosh presents a new series of crimson-hued landscape paintings in his solo exhibition "I Hope This Transmission Finds You Soon" at School Gallery in Folkestone, U.K. The works, including pieces titled "Whitney," "K2," "Gasherbrum," and "Matterhorn" (all 2026), transform familiar mountain forms into eerie, otherworldly scenes with glowing orbs and uncanny light, drawing inspiration from Cormac McCarthy's novel "Blood Meridian." The exhibition runs through May 30.

‘Shaping Community & Shifting Narratives’ art exhibit opening reception to take place March 6

The Flint Institute of Arts Museum & Art School is hosting the opening reception for 'Shaping Community & Shifting Narratives,' an exhibition featuring works by 12 women artists of African descent aged 60 and older. Representing the communities of Flint, Lansing, and Detroit, the show includes a diverse range of media such as ceramics, painting, glass, and fiber arts. A special tribute will be included for the late textile artist Ernestine Bains, whose legacy is being carried forward by her granddaughter, Camille Baines.
