Museum Exhibitions Coming to East & South Texas in Spring 2026

Several museums in East and South Texas have announced their spring 2026 exhibition schedules. The Beeville Art Museum will open a solo show of landscape painter William Anzalone in January. The Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi will present 'In Nature’s Studio: Two Centuries of American Landscape Painting,' a traveling exhibition from the Reading Public Museum. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts will host a retrospective of photographer Frank Armstrong. The International Museum of Art and Science in McAllen will open three shows: 'Piñatabstract' by Josuè Rawmirez, 'Voces del Arte Popular' featuring Mexican folk art, and 'Aviary,' a bird-themed exhibition. South Texas College will also present two exhibitions in January and February, including Leila Hernández's 'The Lessons of the Empress.'

Museum Exhibitions On View in East Texas, South Texas & the Valley this Fall

Several museums and art centers across East Texas, South Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley have announced their fall 2025 exhibition schedules. Highlights include the Tyler Museum of Art’s "Alas…" by Alicia Eggert, a floral sculpture that wilts over three weeks, and "Assembled: A Look at Contemporary Collage" featuring Texas artists. The Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi will present three shows: Jason DeMarte’s surrealist photography in "Arcadian Enclosures," the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi faculty biennial "Quarter Turn," and "Breadth of Latino/a Voices" from its permanent collection. The Rockport Center for the Arts opens Jessica Ninci’s "A Field Guide" and Moira Garcia’s "Nepantla: In-Between." The Beeville Art Museum hosts Caprice Pierucci’s "Threads Through Time," and the Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art in Victoria will survey work by Fort Bend County artists.

Summer Exhibitions Coming to Venues in East & South Texas

Summer exhibitions are opening across East and South Texas at venues including the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, the Beeville Art Museum, the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of East Texas in Lufkin, and the Rockport Center for the Arts. Highlights include Janavi Mahimtura Folmsbee's 'Magic Water' at the Rockport Center for the Arts, a 2026 FotoFest Biennial Participating Space; Jennifer Arnold's 'A Layered Space: Coming Up For Air (v.6)'; Elena Rodz's 'Byways' as part of the Past Master Artists | Rockport Legends exhibition; Bill Pangburn's 'Printed Traces – A Neches River Journal' at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas; and Woody Gwyn's 'Skylight On Water, Trees, Rock and Road' at the Art Museum of South Texas.

STC Alumni Art Exhibit Celebrates Mentorship & Artistic Growth

South Texas College’s Technology Campus Library Art Gallery presented its annual STC Alumni Series exhibit, featuring three former Visual Arts students: Elijah Dueñas, Irma Garza Garcia, and Michelle Ramirez. The artists, who studied under STC Art Instructor Luis Corpus and later at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley under painter Rigoberto Gonzalez, reunited for a reception celebrating their work and the mentorship that shaped their careers. The exhibit runs until December 1 at the STC Technology Campus Library Art Gallery.
