New Sweet Factory exhibition in Southport celebrates shared histories of sweet making and seaside culture

Artist Linny Venables presents 'Sweet Factory,' a new exhibition at The Atkinson in Southport, opening October 18, 2025 and running through February 28, 2026. The show draws parallels between glassmaking and sweet-making processes, featuring Venables' glass artworks alongside pieces created by workshop participants from Southport and Bootle, as well as research and objects from local sweet factories.
