Hallie Ford Museum of Art showcases Oregon’s foremost Modernist painter with ‘C.S. Price: A Portrait’

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art in Salem, Oregon, has opened 'C.S. Price: A Portrait,' a retrospective exhibition of more than 40 works by Clayton Sumner Price, a Modernist painter who helped shape America’s view of the West. The show was organized by Roger Saydack, a retired attorney and self-taught scholar who first encountered Price’s painting 'The Fisherman' as a boy at the Detroit Institute of Arts and spent decades researching the artist. It runs through August 30 and is the first solo exhibition of Price’s work in over 25 years, accompanied by a 312-page catalog.

A major exhibition titled 'Lillian Pitt: Art, Memory, Home' opens at The Museum at Warm Springs on May 21, featuring the contemporary art of celebrated Pacific Northwest Native artist Lillian Pitt alongside works from her personal collection and other institutions. The show, curated by Angela Anne Smith with contributions from Rebecca Dobkins, explores six themes in Pitt's life and work and includes an opening reception sponsored by The Ford Family Foundation.

Annual Art in the West Exhibition and Auction Returns to the High Desert Museum - The Source

The High Desert Museum will host its annual Art in the West exhibition and online auction starting July 18, featuring nearly 130 works by painters, sculptors, photographers, and basket weavers inspired by the High Desert region. The 2026 edition highlights Jury's Choice winner Peter Dawson's photograph "Infinity #3363, Eastern Oregon" and Curator's Choice winner Natalie Kirk's basket "Yamash in Thunderbird of Nch’I Wana," alongside works by artists such as Arturo Garcia, Frank Buffalo Hyde, and Miguel Almeida.
