The 51st Annual Juried UW Student Exhibition is taking place, featuring works selected by juror Lindsay Metivier, a photographer, educator, curator, and gallerist based in Carrboro, North Carolina. Metivier holds degrees from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and UNC Chapel Hill, and has operated Aviary Gallery in Boston and Peel Gallery + Photo Lab in Carrboro.
The Pat Guthrie Special Exhibitions Teaching Gallery at the University of Wyoming Art Museum is hosting its Fall 2025 exhibition, which integrates artworks from the museum's collection into four university courses: GEOL 1101 on the Anthropocene, ENGL 4999 on place and public memory, HP 3165-04 on Inuit environmental dilemmas, and HP 1020 on dreams and reality. Featured works include prints by Katsushika Hokusai, Martin Stupich, Dana Claxton, and Linda Connor, each paired with course themes to foster interdisciplinary learning.
The University of Wyoming's Biodiversity Institute is seeking artwork to display in the gallery located in the atrium/lobby of the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center. Submissions are open to UW students, faculty, professionals, children, and groups, with exhibitions featuring biodiversity-related media such as photography, paintings, sculptures, and collaborative scientist-artist projects. The next exhibition, titled "Adventures on the Kinabatangan: UW Field Course 2025," will showcase work from UW students who traveled to Borneo.
The University of Wyoming Art Museum will open 'Global Collection: Masks of the World' on Saturday, May 2. The exhibition features 28 masks from the museum's permanent collection, spanning diverse regions and cultural contexts, and explores masks as cultural agents, works of art, and objects shaped by circulation and interpretation. The show is drawn from donations made over the past 50 years and was curated with assistance from UW Honors College intern Carter Coggins. Funding comes from the Barbara J. and V. Frank Mendicino Endowment for Collection Conservation and the Patricia R. Guthrie Special Exhibitions Gallery Endowment.
