ACA Galleries in New York is hosting "Continuum: Over 100 Years of Black Art," an expansive group exhibition running through March 7, 2026. The show features a diverse array of media—including painting, sculpture, textiles, and collage—by more than a dozen pioneering Black artists. Spanning from the 19th century to the present day, the exhibition highlights key figures such as still-life painter Charles Ethan Porter, collagist Romare Bearden, and contemporary textile artist Helen McBride Richter.

A memorial for the late theater visionary Robert Wilson was held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Harvey Theater, featuring a 30-minute period of silence as requested by Wilson before his death at age 83. Experience memories of plantation-born painter in new African American Museum exhibition

The African American Museum in Dallas will open a new exhibition, "Sunday Call to Church: The Art of Clementine Hunter," on December 5, 2025. The show brings together 22 paintings collected by Bank of Texas chairman Norman Bagwell and four works from the museum's own holdings, featuring the self-taught Louisiana painter who began creating art at age 50. Hunter, born on a plantation in 1887, worked as a field laborer and house worker at Melrose Plantation, painting from memory scenes of worship, work, and community life in the rural South.
