The Emeritus Student Photography Exhibition 2026 has opened to the public, showcasing the work of older adult students from the Emeritus College photography program. The exhibition features a diverse range of photographic subjects and techniques, highlighting the creative output of non-traditional, lifelong learners.
Artist and educator Brad Chapman Bleau, a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Goddard College, discusses his multifaceted career in a recent interview. Bleau works as an adjunct professor at Worcester State University and assistant director of the Mary Cosgrove Dolphin Art Gallery, while also curating the Worcester Center for Crafts Hot Night in the City exhibition. He creates mixed-media "junk paintings" using vintage objects and ephemera, sells art at Almanac Market in Paxton, and teaches a nature-based art class at Turn Back Time farm and forest education center.
Madison College's Continuing Education program is hosting its annual Student and Faculty Art Show from August 18 to September 12 at the Truax Art Gallery on the Truax campus. The exhibition features work by over 50 artists, including ceramics, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and mixed media. A free opening reception will take place on August 16 from 4-6 p.m., offering a live art demonstration, refreshments, and wine tasting, with summer gallery hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
That Art Place, a local art school run by Andronika Christodoulou, officially opened its new studio and gallery space in Carlton, Sydney, on July 12 with an exhibition titled 'First Light.' The event showcased works by over 65 young artists from the St George area, ranging from children as young as six to adult learners, featuring paintings, charcoal sketches, and mixed media. Gallery 100 in Chelsea, Michigan, will host The Creative Corner Collection, an exhibition of children's artwork from the Manitou Beach Creative Corner's camps and workshops, running from April 27 through May 8. The show features work by students ages 6 to 15, with an opening reception on May 3 featuring violinists from the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Gallery 100 takes no commission on sales, so all proceeds go directly to the young artists.
