The 22nd edition of the European Night of Museums returns on Saturday, May 23, with over 3,000 institutions across France and Europe opening their doors free of charge from late afternoon. Many museums are offering special activities such as concerts, performances, games, guided tours, and walks. The youth program "La classe, l'œuvre!" will again involve primary, middle, and high school students acting as mediators for artworks they studied throughout the year. Highlights include exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou-Metz dedicated to François Morellet and Louise Nevelson, a concert at Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle's Cyclop in Milly-la-Forêt, a dance performance by Korean artist Eun-Me Ahn at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, and exhibitions at museums in Tours, Vernon, Rouen, and Sète, as well as a Brazilian ball at the Château des ducs de Bretagne in Nantes.

75 Years of Making Art in Ardsley

The Ardsley Art Commission is presenting a unique exhibition featuring the works of mother-and-son artists Valda Hancock Wagner and Rich Wagner, spanning 75 years of artistic creation. The show includes oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, drawings, etchings, and wood block prints, ranging from traditional realism to abstraction. Valda studied with notable artists such as Reginald Marsh, Robert Rauschenberg, and Robert Beverly Hale, and later taught art in inner-city New York. Rich studied at the Art Students League, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Royal Drawing School, and has participated in over 80 exhibitions. The exhibition is on view at Ardsley Village Hall through October 1.

Museum Night 2026: Events in Belarus and Beyond

On May 16, 2026, Museum Night celebrations will take place across Belarus and beyond, with cultural institutions offering extended hours and special programs. Highlights include the National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Minsk hosting lectures, artist talks, and exhibitions such as “Forms and Shadows: Feminine” and “Difficulties of Translation,” while the National Art Museum explores the color blue through its program “Blue of Blue.” Literary museums dedicated to Maksim Bahdanovich, Yakub Kolas, and Yanka Kupala will feature space-themed activities, reenactments, and fashion shows, and the “Sula” History Park will offer an interactive journey called “Hunting the Dragon.”

New ‘Beyond the Gallery’ Art Exhibit at Lil Mill Lofts in Monroe features work of Rebecca Herold

The Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts (MWCA) has partnered with Lil Mill Lofts in Monroe to present a new 'Beyond the Gallery' art exhibit featuring the work of local artist Rebecca Herold. Herold’s paintings, inspired by skies and seas, capture movement, emotion, light, and the quiet power of nature. An opening reception will be held on May 16 from 5–7 p.m. at Lil Mill Lofts, located at 200 Barrett Street in Monroe.

“Equatorial territories” art exhibition opens in Budapest – photos

The Embassy of Ecuador in Hungary opened the art exhibition “Equatorial Territories” (Territorios Ecuatoriales) on May 7th at the Széphárom Community Space in Budapest, running through May 29th. The show features 40 paintings and sculptures by five Ecuadorian artists—Miguel Betancourt, William Cáceres García, María Fernández de Córdova, Salomé Lalama, and María Elena Machuca—exploring the colors of the Andean equatorial zone and advocating for environmental preservation. Admission is free.
