AIPAD : The Photography Show 2026 : Robert Koch Gallery – Booth B6

Robert Koch Gallery, a founding member of AIPAD, will present a group exhibition at The Photography Show 2026, held at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City from April 22–26. The gallery's booth B6 will feature the premiere of key early Edward Burtynsky images in a larger 48 × 60–72 inch format, previously unavailable at that scale, along with recent mine tailing images shown for the first time. Also on view will be photographs from Matt Black's American Geography and New World Atlas series, works by Mimi Plumb, whose retrospective is currently at the High Museum of Art, and pieces by historic photographers including Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Helen Levitt, and Man Ray.

The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., will present 'Beneath the Surface: Mining and American Photography' from May 23 to August 23, 2026, the first exhibition to focus exclusively on the relationship between resource extraction and American photography. Featuring 150 photographs by over 100 artists—including Richard Avedon, Walker Evans, Lewis Hine, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Dorothea Lange, and Gordon Parks—the show spans nearly 200 years, from early daguerreotypes of the California Gold Rush to contemporary large-scale works. After its Washington run, the exhibition will travel to the Milwaukee Art Museum (October 23, 2026–January 18, 2027) and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas (February 14–May 9, 2027).

AIPAD’s 45th Edition Puts New Light on Favorites at Park Avenue Armory

The Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) held its 45th annual Photography Show at New York City's Park Avenue Armory, featuring 77 exhibitors from North America, South America, Asia, Europe, and Australia. The preview night drew a crowd of photography enthusiasts, with highlights including strong representation of Latin American photographers such as Graciela Iturbide, Frida Kahlo, and Tina Modotti, as well as classic New York imagery from William Klein, Joel Meyerowitz, and Richard Avedon. Notable sales included a Lucienne Bloch portrait of Kahlo, which sold within hours of the preview opening.
