Art Gallery of Burlington to host inaugural exhibition for emerging artists

The Art Gallery of Burlington (AGB) will host the inaugural Henry Goodman Exhibition for Emerging Artists starting May 21, presented by the arts charity FUSION. The traveling show features over 25 emerging artists working in ceramic and glass under the theme 'gathering,' curated by 2025 Sobey Award finalist Chukwudubem Ukaigwe. Artists include Laura Wagner, Thomas Paik, Deborah Hatanaka, and Ryan Nesbitt. The exhibition will later travel to Rails End Gallery in Haliburton and Neilson Park Creative Arts Centre in Mississauga.

Women in the American Glass Studio at Corning Museum of Glass

The Corning Museum of Glass will open a new exhibition titled "Tough Stuff: Women in the American Glass Studio" on May 16, 2026, as part of its 75th anniversary celebration. This is the first survey exhibition focused on women artists working in glass during the American Studio Glass Movement from the 1960s through the late 1970s, featuring over 200 objects by artists including Claire Falkenstein, Audrey Handler, Margie Jervis, Susie Krasnican, Kathleen Mulcahy, Ginny Ruffner, Ruth Tamura, and Toots Zynsky.

Bespoke Glass Studio’s Sculptures Challenge Traditional Conventions of Stained Glass

Lesley Green, founder of Bespoke Glass Studio, creates stained glass sculptures that break from traditional window-mounted forms. Her work includes three-dimensional pieces that project colored light onto walls, functional room dividers, and sculptural objects made using hand-cut copper foil techniques. Green aims to shift perception of stained glass from architectural feature to standalone art object, emphasizing pure color and texture.
