Holocaust Museum LA, the first survivor-founded and oldest Holocaust museum in the United States, will reopen after a 10-month closure as part of the new $70-million Goldrich Cultural Center in Pan Pacific Park. The 70,000-square-foot campus, debuting June 14, doubles the museum's original footprint and includes three pavilions, a 200-seat theater, exhibition galleries, a rooftop garden, and a Holocaust-era boxcar. The center is named after the late Jona Goldrich, a Holocaust survivor and co-founder of the museum, and was designed by architect Hagy Belzberg.
The Other Art Fair has returned to Dallas for its largest and most ambitious edition to date, featuring 135 independent artists—the most ever presented in the Dallas market. The fair, presented by Saatchi Art, transforms Dallas Market Hall into a marketplace where artists sell directly to collectors and art lovers, with highlights including immersive installations, live neurofeedback art, and a special focus on LGBTQ+ artists. A short list of queer artists featured includes Ty Hays, Patricia Juppet, Jake Trujillo, and others, with Christopher Sonny Martinez receiving The New Futures award for first-time exhibitors.
Hannah Powell, a University of Pittsburgh alumna, has been appointed as the first official coordinator of the University Art Gallery (UAG) at Pitt. After earning a degree in anthropology and a minor in museum studies from Pitt in 2016, she pursued a master's in museum studies from the University of Glasgow, then worked at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., and later at Pittsburgh institutions like the Heinz History Center and Carnegie Science Center. Since starting her role at the UAG in 2024, Powell coordinates exhibitions, plans educational programming, and improves accessibility to a collection of over 3,000 pieces, working alongside one other full-time employee.
