The City of Milan has officially completed ArtLine, a major public art project that has transformed the CityLife park into a permanent open-air contemporary art museum. Spanning 173,000 square meters, the park now hosts nineteen site-specific installations by internationally renowned artists and emerging talents. The project's conclusion was marked during Milan Art Week 2026 with the inauguration of 'Octospider', a large-scale interactive sculpture by British artist Jeremy Deller designed for children.

Burning Man Art: It’s Closer Than You Think

Burning Man art is increasingly appearing in museums, cities, and regional events worldwide, moving beyond the temporary desert environment of Black Rock City. Artists like Miki Masuhara-Page and Walker Babington have brought their interactive sculptures—such as 'Cosmic Messenger' and 'Burden of the Beast'—to venues including the Portland Winter Light Festival and The Hermitage Museum and Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia. The Black Rock City Honoraria Program, funded by the nonprofit Burning Man Project, supports approximately 75 artworks annually, while the Art department assists nearly 400 pieces destined for the playa.

Southwest Florida museums, from Sarasota to Naples, present a robust July lineup: two exhibitions open, one closes, and 24 continue. Highlights include Chris Friday's first solo museum show "Where We Never Grow Old" at Sarasota Art Museum, featuring large-scale chalk drawings and a site-specific installation exploring safe havens. Other notable shows include "Personal to Political: Celebrating the African American Artists of Paulson Fontaine Press," with works by Martin Puryear and Kerry James Marshall; Jillian Mayer's interactive sculpture series "Slumpies"; Lillian Blades' immersive mixed-media maze "Through the Veil"; and Molly Hatch's site-specific ceramic installation "Amalgam" (2023-24). The Ringling Museum also highlights a newly acquired painting by Juana Romani.
