The Parrish Art Museum Presents ‘Sanford Biggers: Drift,’ The Artist’s First Major East End Solo Show

The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York, will present 'Sanford Biggers: Drift,' the artist's first major solo exhibition on the East End of Long Island, opening in summer 2026. The show features new works, site-responsive installations, and signature sculptures and textiles, including the monumental cloud installation 'Unsui (Cloud Forest)' (2025). The exhibition is part of the museum's 'PARRISH USA250: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness' series, which marks America's semi-quincentennial by exploring the ideals of the Declaration of Independence through the lens of Long Island's artistic heritage.

NEXTpittsburgh's monthly art roundup highlights a packed schedule of openings and events in Pittsburgh from late January through May. Key shows include the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Downtown Gallery Crawl on Jan. 30, featuring artists like Ben Schonberger and Stamatina Gregory; "Stuck in Saṃsāra" (Feb. 6–March 22), a group exhibition of 10 Asian American & Pacific Island artists curated by Brent Nakamoto; and "Lewis Hine Pictures America" (Feb. 21–May 17) at the Frick Museum & Gardens, showcasing the documentary photographer's iconic images of American workers. Additional exhibitions span ceramics, hand-colored photographs, and community shows at venues such as Concept Art Gallery, Bottom Feeder Books, and the John A. Hermann Memorial Art Museum.

A Gallery Returns as an Edgartown Pop-Up

Tanya Augoustinos has opened A Gallery as a pop-up on Edgartown's Main Street, in the former location of a women's boutique. The gallery features works by Martha's Vineyard artists, including the late Rez Williams and Richard Lee, as well as Kara Taylor, Carol Brown Goldberg, Kate Feiffer, and others. Augoustinos is running the space with artist Chandler Biggs, and the gallery will operate through September while property owner Sarah Levine seeks a permanent tenant.
