The Ashley Gibson Barnett (AGB) Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida, has launched its largest-ever student art exhibition, featuring 187 award-winning works from Polk County students in grades seven through twelve. The showcase includes regional and national winners of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards across various media, including ceramics, photography, and digital painting. Notably, eighth-grader Sophia De La Cruz’s mixed-media piece, "Blast of Emotions," was selected for the museum’s permanent collection, placing her work alongside masters like David Hockney and Robert Rauschenberg.
The Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, announced the award winners of the 52nd-annual Salon of Door County High School Art at a free public reception on April 6. The exhibition features original artwork by 105 students from five local high schools—Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay, and Washington Island. Awards of Excellence were given to Abigail DeMeuse, Lilian Saltou, Audrie Schley, Rowan Ploor, and Thomas Pratt, while honorable mentions went to Molly Virlee, Lola Georgenson, Angelina LeCloux Herrera, Ryan Felhofer, and Teagan McGrane. Queensborough Community College Art Gallery held an opening reception for its 2026 Juried Student art exhibit on April 21. The annual show, which began in 2011, features between 87 and 100 works selected as the "best of the best" from students in the Art and Design Department, with the pieces remaining on view through May 29.
Fullerton College Art Gallery is currently hosting its 2025 Student Art Exhibition, showcasing 210 selected works from 316 submissions. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government has issued an open call for exhibition proposals for the Collateral Exhibition of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025.” The biennale, guided by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture and co-organized by major casino and resort groups, will feature six sections including the Main Exhibition, Public Art Exhibition, City Pavilion, Special Exhibition, Local Curatorial Project, and Collateral Exhibition. Eligible applicants include Macao-registered organizations and residents aged 18 or older, with proposals centered on the theme “Hey, what brings you here?” The deadline for submissions is May 23, 2025, and the final selection will be made by chief curator Feng Boyi.
