Free art exhibition with 120 works by local artists opens at Bolton Library

The Bolton Library and Museum has launched its Open Art Event, featuring 120 works selected from over 150 submissions by local creatives. The exhibition showcases a diverse array of mediums, including painting, sculpture, digital art, and photography, with Richard Wood taking the top £1,000 prize for his industrial landscape 'Ghost Chimneys.' Other honors included the Young Artist Award presented to Olivia Edge and an upcoming visitor's choice award sponsored by Bromley Art Supplies.

Lucid Dreaming: dlr Open Exhibition 2025

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council presented the dlr Open Exhibition 2025, themed "Lucid Dreaming," at the Municipal Gallery in dlr LexIcon from December 7, 2025, to February 15, 2026. Curated by Davey Moor of the Royal Hibernian Academy through an open submission process, the exhibition awarded a €1,000 prize to Eimear Carvill, with runners-up Kate McDonagh and Fergal Styles each receiving €250. The launch brought together artists, friends, and art lovers, with remarks from Chief Executive Frank Curran and Councillor Jim Gildea.

Powerful portrait wins top prize at Gosnells Art Awards

Ariel Katzir's mixed-media portrait 'I do see you' won the Overall Acquisitive Award at the City of Gosnells Community Art Exhibition and Awards, earning $5,000 and a place in the city's art collection. The painting depicts local non-verbal First Nations artist Darryl Dempster, who communicates through his art. Other category winners received $500 across media including oil, acrylic, watercolour, digital, mixed media, youth, and Aboriginal artist categories. The exhibition runs until May 25, with a People's Choice Award sponsored by Maddington Central.
