Museum Exhibitions Coming to East & South Texas in Spring 2026

Several museums in East and South Texas have announced their spring 2026 exhibition schedules. The Beeville Art Museum will open a solo show of landscape painter William Anzalone in January. The Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi will present 'In Nature’s Studio: Two Centuries of American Landscape Painting,' a traveling exhibition from the Reading Public Museum. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts will host a retrospective of photographer Frank Armstrong. The International Museum of Art and Science in McAllen will open three shows: 'Piñatabstract' by Josuè Rawmirez, 'Voces del Arte Popular' featuring Mexican folk art, and 'Aviary,' a bird-themed exhibition. South Texas College will also present two exhibitions in January and February, including Leila Hernández's 'The Lessons of the Empress.'

“It’s All in the Details” at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas

The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) has opened a new exhibition titled “It’s All in the Details,” featuring approximately 50 works from its permanent collection, many of which have never been exhibited before. Key works include Shawne Major’s mixed-media piece “Syzygy” (2022), Marcelino Eduardo Sánchez Rodriguez’s feather-based “Viva Mexico” (2009), and Mary McCleary’s densely layered collage “The Clouds Grew So Dense, She Couldn’t See” (2015), which had been hanging in the museum’s intern office for years.

Above & Beyond, Wisconsin folk artist will explore Mexican immigrant experience in next cultural exhibit

Above & Beyond Children's Museum (ABCM) in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, will host a listening session on May 4, 2025, as it prepares the second iteration of its Culture Exchange Exhibit, this time focusing on the Mexican immigrant experience. Welcome Home: A Pop-up Art Exhibition

A pop-up art exhibition in Philadelphia explores the dismantling of Isaiah Zagar's public mural *Skin of the Bride* (c. 1990-2001), a ceramic-and-tile mosaic originally housed in a community arts center.
