How 'Shōgun' Became Takashi Murakami’s Latest Pop Culture Muse

Takashi Murakami is having a landmark year, with a solo exhibition at Gagosian London, a Major League Baseball collaboration, and the reissue of his Louis Vuitton line with Marc Jacobs. His largest U.S. exhibition in two decades, "Stepping on the Tail of the Rainbow," opened at the Cleveland Museum of Art, featuring over 100 works.
