The Oklahoma Arts Council has announced a historic gift of artworks for the Oklahoma State Art Collection. The donation, described as one of the largest in the collection's history, includes a significant number of works by Oklahoma artists and will be formally added to the state's holdings.
The Norman Firehouse Art Center in Norman, Oklahoma, will present "Sohail & Co.," a summer exhibition focused on figure drawing and sculpture, on view from May 13 to August 7, 2026. The show brings together artists connected to the University of Oklahoma School of Visual Arts, exploring how the human figure evolves from observation to finished form across drawing, ceramics, and sculpture. An opening reception on May 13 will also feature the unveiling of "Rooted," a new public sculpture by undergraduate student Isabella Clark, installed in the Firehouse park as part of the Lions Park Sculpture Garden initiative.
Edmond Fine Arts Gallery in Edmond, Oklahoma, is launching 2026 with a group exhibition titled “Interesting Places, Interesting Faces,” featuring works by six Oklahoma artists: Clay Moore, Diane Goldschmidt, William Lentz, Glen Thomas, Cheryl Smith, and Charlotte New. The show, organized by the Paint Pushers group, will open with a free public reception on January 8, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m., and remain on view throughout January. Artwork will be available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds supporting the gallery’s year-round arts programming.
WV Art Advisory, in partnership with Masterwork Studios, is hosting two community-focused events in downtown Tulsa during the first weekend of December. On Friday, Dec. 5, the gallery opens 'Southern Realism,' a First Friday exhibition featuring Oklahoma artists Harriet Derrevere, Taylor Hoffer, Cody Jensen, and Andrew Nimick, with Jensen debuting two limited-edition photography books. On Sunday, Dec. 7, the space transforms into a Christmas Market with local vendors offering handmade gifts, live caroling, and family activities. The events take place at Masterwork Studios, owned by Tim Clement and operated through his nonprofit Artists for Christ and Community.
