A new open-air urban art gallery called "Walls That Matter – 8 Take Over" is being created at 8 Marvila in Lisbon, Portugal. The project, curated and produced by Because Art Matters, features murals by artists including RAM, Mário Belém, Gonçalo MAR, Jacqueline de Montaigne, L7 Matrix, Patrícia Mariano, Rita Ravasco, Arm Collective, Binau, Burry, and Buermans. The murals are being painted live from October through November, allowing visitors to watch the artworks come to life in real time. The gallery is free and open to the public at Praça David Leandro da Silva 8, with extended hours on weekends.

Boston’s streets transform into open-air galleries

Boston has launched its first-ever citywide public art exhibition, the Boston Public Art Triennial, titled "The Exchange." The exhibition features 21 large-scale installations by local and international artists placed across neighborhoods including Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, Downtown Crossing, and the Charlestown Navy Yard. Works address themes such as indigeneity, sustainability, shared humanity, affordable housing, and Black motherhood. Chiang Mai, Bangkok transform into open-air galleries once again

The Galleries' Nights 2025 returns to Chiang Mai and Bangkok, transforming both cities into open-air galleries. The event, presented by the Embassy of France, will showcase over 200 artists across more than 80 galleries—Chiang Mai on November 1-2 and Bangkok on November 21-22. This 12th edition marks the 340th anniversary of Franco-Thai diplomatic relations and is adapted in tribute to HM Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother for her contributions to traditional arts and craftsmanship. The program highlights gender equality in the arts with support from the French organization Aware, and features free transport options including traditional red trucks in Chiang Mai and electric tuk-tuks in Bangkok. The closing ceremony will be held at Jim Thompson Art Center on November 23, with a performance by choreographer Jitti Chompee.
