Printmaking exhibition opens

The Estuary Arts Centre in Ōrewa is hosting "Pressing Matters – Printmaking in Focus" throughout March, showcasing over 150 works by contemporary New Zealand printmakers. The event features a daily pop-up print lab for live demonstrations and a family-oriented open day on March 14, including a talk by letterpress specialist Tara McLeod.

“Juneteenth” Show Opening at Chillicothe’s Pump House Art Gallery

The "Juneteenth" show at the Pump House Center for the Arts in Chillicothe, Ohio, opened on Thursday, featuring pastel artwork by Carlos Walker on the first floor under the theme "What If: Walk a Mile in Our Shoes." The Mezzanine Gallery displayed Juneteenth-themed works by local artists Damianne Fischer, Tony Keaton, Krystian Jones, Steven Riggs, Angie Terry, and Bev Reiley. Show coordinator Angela Young introduced the artists, and Walker spoke about his 13-year prison sentence for drug dealing, now dealing art instead. The show runs through the end of the month.

Türkiye Pastel artists open ‘Dust and Light’ exhibition in Istanbul | Daily Sabah

The Türkiye Pastel Sanatçıları Topluluğu (Community of Pastel Artists), led by Javad Soleimanpour, has opened its fifth edition of the “Dust and Light” pastel painting exhibition at Mete Plaza/Mete Art in Istanbul. The show features 120 artists and 120 works, with an opening ceremony attended by art enthusiasts and guests. Honorary guest professor Sinan Canan delivered a keynote on the relationship between science and art, while painters Olga Abramova and Remzi Iren served as honorary guests and jury members. Three works received prizes, and the exhibition is free and runs through May 25.
