Artist Samantha Nye's immersive video installation "Web of Love" has opened at the Harold J. Miossi Gallery at Cuesta College's San Luis Obispo campus. The four-screen work is a scene-by-scene remake of an old Scopitone film, featuring legendary Bay Area artists Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens, and is designed with a lounge area of heart-shaped hot tubs on red shag carpet.
Corazón Cafe in downtown San Luis Obispo hosts an annual art gallery called "Chingonas" during March and April, celebrating Women's History Month. The gallery, curated by co-owner Sara McGrath, features around 20 participants ranging from ages 5 to 85, displaying works that honor "badass women"—from famous figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Gloria Steinem to everyday family members. The term "Chingonas" is a reclaimed Mexican-Spanish slang for strong, independent women.
Cuesta College is set to host its 2026 Student Annual Art Exhibition at the Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery from April 16 through May 22. The showcase features a diverse array of student-produced works spanning traditional and contemporary disciplines, including painting, ceramics, printmaking, and digital art. An opening reception on April 16 will kick off the event, which is free and open to the public on the San Luis Obispo campus.
