15 Artists Explore the Potentiality of Fabric and Fiber in ‘Textile Art Redefined’

The Saatchi Gallery in London is hosting 'Textile Art Redefined,' a group exhibition featuring 15 artists who push the boundaries of fiber and fabric. Curated by Helen Adams, the show includes diverse works ranging from Ian Berry’s immersive installations made of recycled denim to Kenny Nguyen’s undulating silk wall pieces and Anne von Freyburg’s textile reinterpretations of Rococo paintings. The exhibition coincides with the release of Adams' new book, 'Textile Fine Art,' which explores the medium's evolution from functional craft to a celebrated pillar of contemporary art.

American Artist and Sonya Clark among Guggenheim Fellows 2026.

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has announced its 101st class of Guggenheim Fellows, awarding grants to 223 individuals across 55 disciplines. Among the 30 fine artists selected for the 2026 cohort are Brooklyn-based conceptual artist American Artist, textile artist and educator Sonya Clark, and interdisciplinary artist Allison Janae Hamilton. Each fellow receives a financial stipend designed to provide the creative and intellectual freedom necessary to pursue their work without restrictive conditions.

National Carpet Museum opens exhibition titled 'Images Imprinted in Memory' [PHOTOS]

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum has launched "Images Imprinted in Memory," a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Madina Gasimova. Supported by the .ART domain, the showcase features 28 works produced over the last five years, including five new carpets woven using the museum's traditional techniques based on the artist's contemporary sketches. The exhibition highlights the fluidity of artistic motifs as they transition across various media, including painting, stained glass, mosaic, and digital formats, accompanied by a sound installation of the carpet-weaving process.

Quilt artist Lois Klassen presents her first Manitoba exhibition, "Lamentation and Celebration," featuring a series of collaged textile works that explore the duality of grief and beauty. The exhibition showcases Klassen’s signature style of juxtaposing found, recycled, and commercial fabrics with traditional needlework fragments to create complex visual patterns and textures.

Textile art anchors new exhibition running at Tairāwhiti Museum

Gisborne-based artist Melanie Tangaere Baldwin has unveiled her latest solo exhibition, Ā Mua, at the Tairāwhiti Museum. The showcase features a departure from her previous multi-disciplinary work, focusing heavily on sculptural hand-stitched textile art that depicts powerful female forms, alongside light boxes exploring the symbolism of fire.
