Mandarin Oriental, Macau marks 15th anniversary with new art exhibition

Mandarin Oriental, Macau launched a new contemporary Chinese art exhibition titled "Modern Vision, Timeless Technique" to mark its 15th anniversary at its current location. The exhibition, running until 31 August in the hotel's lobby and Lobby Lounge, features 15 works by local female artists Leong Kit Man and Tsang Tseng Tseng. Curated by Alice Kok, president of the Art For All Society (AFA), the show highlights how the artists blend traditional Chinese painting techniques with modern aesthetics. VIPs including government officials and cultural figures attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the hotel's executive chef created canapés inspired by the artworks.

The 2026 'Horse' Zodiac Art Exhibition opened at the Shanghai Library East Branch on January 28th. This annual event, now in its fourth year, showcases over 200 selected works from more than 7,000 global submissions, featuring diverse mediums like traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, installation, and digital art. The exhibition is structured into four sections: a special invitation section with works by renowned Shanghai artists, a three-dimensional works section, a traditional art section, and a digital art section.

The program also included the donation of 100 art books to the school and the appointment of a prominent artist as an external art education counselor.

A talented artist has demonstrated an extraordinary technique by drawing an intricate Jiangnan water town scene using both hands simultaneously. The performance was captured and shared by the People's Daily App, with production credits to Zhu Yurou and intern Zhang Jingxuan, and web editing by Zhang Kaiwei and Hongyu.
