Open call for entries to new portrait award

ArtHouse Jersey has launched an open call for entries to its new Portrait Award, a competition open to artists aged 16 and over who live in or have a strong connection to the Channel Islands. The award is free to enter, with a deadline of September 30, 2026, and offers a top prize of £1,500 plus two runner-up prizes of £500 each. Selected works will be exhibited at Capital House in St Helier from January to April 2027, alongside works by international artists. All forms of portraiture—painting, photography, mixed media—are eligible, provided they are original and completed within the last three years.

New hospital gallery brings art and wellbeing together

Arts Open – an exhibition growing with every year

New look for Guernsey’s Old Quarter

Exhibition open in Sark – Watercolours and Costumes

The Sark Art Gallery and Museum on the island of Sark opened its second exhibition on 18 June, featuring watercolour paintings by local artist Louise Hill and theatre costumes from Sark Theatre Group's 2017 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, created by seamstress Sue Daly. The exhibition also includes Betty Guille's famous post box toppers, which remain on display throughout the summer. Hill's watercolours capture Sark's landscapes, caves, bays, and lanes, while Daly's costumes are richly embellished with embroidery, headdresses, and accessories.
