Beijing exhibition explores Bada Shanren and the legacy of Chinese Xieyi art

The National Art Museum of China in Beijing has launched the exhibition "Ink Splendor and Cultural Context: Exhibition of Bada Shanren and Chinese Xieyi Art since the 17th Century" to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the birth of the influential Qing dynasty painter Bada Shanren. The show systematically reviews his artistic influence and its transmission across later generations, highlighting the continuity and contemporary value of Chinese Xieyi art. The exhibition runs until August 15, 2026.
