Shenzhen International Museum of Art to open Saturday

The Shenzhen International Museum of Art (SIMoA) will officially open to the public on Saturday in the Guangming Science City district. The museum, covering approximately 135,000 square meters, features two hull-shaped structures symbolizing Eastern and Western cultures. M+ in multi-year strategic partnership with Centre Pompidou

M+, Hong Kong's premier art museum, has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Paris's Centre Pompidou. The agreement, signed on May 15, 2026, by Centre Pompidou President Laurent Le Bon and M+ Museum Director Suhanya Raffel, covers joint curatorial research, exhibition development and sharing, co-commissions and artwork displays, and collection exchange. A major co-curated exhibition will be presented at both venues, with a series of jointly developed exhibitions staged at M+ from 2027 onwards, featuring works from both institutions' collections.

HK artists shine at Venice Biennale with ‘Fermata’ exhibition

Hong Kong artists Kingsley Ng and Angel Hui are showcasing their works at the 61st Venice Biennale in a collateral exhibition titled 'Fermata: Hong Kong in Venice', curated by the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) in collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC). The exhibition, which opened on May 8, 2026, features five installations across a courtyard and four gallery rooms, including Ng's multimedia pieces inspired by hanging laundry and Hui's works blending traditional Chinese embroidery and handcrafted iron window grilles. This marks HKMoA's first curation at the Biennale.

Artist Ai Jing has launched a major solo exhibition titled "Walking in the Sun" at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. A centerpiece of the show involves a literal connection to the artist's roots, featuring 150 bags of black soil transported from her hometown of Shenyang to create an immersive installation exploring memory and belonging.
