‘The Great State of Minnesota’ art exhibit opens at gallery in Thief River Falls

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council Gallery at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls has opened 'The Great State of Minnesota' art exhibit, featuring 51 works by 30 local artists. The show, on view through mid-August 2026, explores the theme 'What Minnesota Means to Me' through diverse media including painting, photography, ceramics, fiber art, and poetry. The exhibit was inspired by national attention on Minnesota, including the influx of federal ICE officers and ensuing protests, prompting artists to reflect on the state's identity, symbols, and personal connections.
