
Contemporary Art Museum emerges as alternative attraction in Cappadocia
The Contemporary Art Museum in Nevşehir, Turkey, established in 2018 within Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, has become an emerging cultural attraction in Cappadocia. Housing around 350 works by local and international artists across a 1,650-square-meter exhibition area, the museum features ceramics, oil paintings, and mixed-media pieces. Director Associate Professor Savaş Kurtuluş Çevik notes that over 30 artists have resided in the region in the past 15 years, and the museum has welcomed more than 50,000 visitors in the last three years. The museum also offers educational workshops for school groups and hosts exhibitions with artists from various countries.
