Great Neck Library to host Rosemary Wilson Sloggatt art exhibit in June

The Great Neck Library in New York will host an exhibition of paintings by artist Rosemary Wilson Sloggatt titled "Among Children 2026: Paintings and Portraits by Rosemary Wilson Sloggatt" from June 1 to June 30. The show includes a Kids' Reception on June 3 and an Artist Reception on June 20. Sloggatt, who studied at Parsons School of Design and Otis Art Institute, has taught art in the Great Neck Public Schools for over 25 years.

United Asian American Alliance hosts 3rd Annual AAPI Art Exhibit

The United Asian American Alliance hosted the 3rd Annual AAPI Art Exhibit at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, a month-long showcase of Asian American creativity and heritage. Curated by artist Joan Kim Suzuki, the exhibition features works in painting, mixed media, photography, and textile that explore themes of memory, identity, migration, and belonging. Great Neck library to host sculpture exhibition by Dr. Suzanne Posner

The Great Neck Library will host a summer sculpture exhibition titled "Swim or Fly" featuring works by local artist Dr. Suzanne Posner from May 1 through July 31 at the Main Library. The sculptures will be displayed atop bookshelves in the Reference Study Area, with a public reception on June 6. Posner, a direct carver with 30 years of experience working in stone, transitioned to full-time artistry after retiring from dentistry following a Parkinson's Disease diagnosis.

Mineola celebrates creative excellence at district art exhibition

Mineola High School hosted its annual District Art Show on March 26, transforming the campus into a gallery space for the local community. The exhibition featured over 200 original works created by K-12 students from all five schools within the district, ranging from primary school projects to advanced portfolios from AP art students. The collection showcased a wide variety of mediums, including painting, sketching, sculpture, and mixed-media compositions.
