Gainesville Fine Arts Association to host Studio Tour Preview Exhibition on Friday

The Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) will host a Studio Tour Preview Exhibition starting May 27 at its Main Gallery, showcasing works from artists participating in the annual GFAA Artist Studio Tour. The preview runs alongside the exhibition “Art In The Hammock,” with an opening reception and kickoff party on May 29 during Artwalk Gainesville. The Studio Tour itself takes place May 30-31, and both exhibitions remain on view through June 19. The events are free and open to the public, with a newly expanded gift shop and locally created artwork available for purchase.

Santa Fe College Student Juried Art Exhibition on tap for Friday

Santa Fe College is set to launch its annual Student Juried Art Exhibition this Friday, April 17, at the college’s Art Gallery in Gainesville. The showcase features between 70 and 100 selected works across various mediums, including painting, photography, and ceramics, culled from over 300 student submissions. Guest juror Carly Shooster from the Sequential Artists’ Workshop will select the top prize winners, who will receive cash awards during the opening reception.

Harn Museum to present ‘Florida in the Frame’ exhibition starting on Friday

The Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida is launching a major exhibition titled "Florida in the Frame: A Century of Artists’ Reflections on the Sunshine State." Drawing from the extensive Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers Collection, the show features over 65 artists including American masters like Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, and Thomas Moran alongside Florida Highwaymen painters. The exhibition is organized into three thematic sections that explore the state's natural landscapes, the development of its urban centers, and its evolution into a global tourism destination between 1850 and 1950.
