Apothecary Artists’ exhibit & workshop embrace the magic of fairies

Apothecary Artists, a downtown studio, is hosting two fairy-themed events next week. On Friday, June 19th, an opening reception will feature works by Southborough artists Jane Schwartz Gates, with her painting exhibit “Magic Lives Everywhere,” and Erica Champney, with her fairy home exhibit “Enchanted Adventures.” The following Saturday, June 20th, Champney will lead a children’s workshop where kids build tiny fairy houses from natural and found objects, surrounded by the artists’ whimsical creations.

Multi-gallery contemporary art fair will feature a Southborough artist

Five Boston-based galleries are organizing a curated contemporary art fair called 'Gallery Hang' in Wayland, Massachusetts, running from June 6 to June 21, 2025. The fair will feature emerging and established artists working in painting, photography, printmaking, and mixed media. Among the participants, LaiSun Keane gallery will present a solo exhibition titled 'Power Play' by Southborough painter Jordan McGirk, whose works combine imagery from 'Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers' with densely painted forest landscapes, exploring themes of American masculinity, cultural appropriation, and nostalgia.

Opening Reception for the Art of Torn Paper — Saturday

The Southborough History and Arts Center (SHAC) is hosting an opening reception and gallery talk on May 9th from 4:00–7:00 PM in its Long Gallery at Fayville Hall, featuring artist Beverly Ramsay. Ramsay, who creates intricate works by transforming handmade paper into pictures celebrating global cultural heritage, will discuss her artistic journey and techniques. The free event requires pre-registration and includes refreshments.

Another Opening Art Reception on March 21st

The downtown art studio Apothecary Artists in Southborough will host a solo exhibition opening for painter Leonard Gerwick on Saturday, March 21st. The reception, scheduled from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, showcases a diverse range of works from the Marlborough-based artist, whose portfolio spans figurative painting, abstraction, and collage.
