Richland County Art Sector to host Ken Arthur reception Sunday; seeks more local artists

The Richland County Development Group Art Sector will host a closing reception for local artist Ken Arthur on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at 101 Tea Shop in Mansfield, Ohio. The event offers visitors a chance to meet Arthur, discuss his found-art sculptures, and network with other local artists. The Art Sector, founded in 2008, has expanded its partnership with 101 Tea Shop, where owner Braxton Daniels has set aside a 15-foot gallery wall for rotating exhibitions. Arthur's show follows an inaugural exhibit by Neil Yoder, and Jo Westfall's work will be featured later this month. The organization is also seeking additional artists to fill exhibition dates in 2026, with a 10% sales commission supporting the tea shop and another 10% benefiting the Art Sector.

A dedication event will be held on February 5 at the Main Library in Mansfield, Ohio, and the exhibition will remain on display through February and March as part of Black History Month celebrations. Akuchie, whose art explored identity, emotion, and lived experience, was also a musician and missionary; her work continues to tell stories of resilience and cultural pride after her untimely death last year.
