Madrona Gets a New Gallery
Interior designer Michelle Dirkse and her husband, artist Jeremy Prim, have opened Dirkse/Prim Gallery in Seattle's Madrona neighborhood. The ground-floor space, which features natural light and high ceilings, focuses on solo and two-person exhibitions. Its inaugural show featured artists Zak Helenske and Mya Kerner, the latter having been one of the first artists Dirkse supported in her Belltown studio years ago. The gallery's next exhibition, Cut/Construct, will run June 4-28 with works by Jordan Clark and Joey Bates.
