Weaving Shed gallery hosts diverse exhibition of local and visiting artists
The Weaving Shed Gallery in Hillswick, Shetland, has opened its Summer Exhibition, featuring works from local and visiting artists. The show includes sculptures, paintings, drawings, and sketches, alongside a dedicated exhibit of the late Jeanette Therese Obstoj, a lyricist and artist whose work the gallery preserves. Local artist Susan Pearson presents her series "Oddkins," exploring human-nonhuman entanglements through clay figures, while visiting artist Nicola Rose displays dramatic seascapes inspired by Shetland's light. Philip Kenolty, from Northumberland, contributes abstract stone sculptures influenced by British Modernism.
