Art in the shadow of departure
Sashi’s Art Studio in Kathmandu is presenting ‘Ekadeshma’, an exhibition featuring works by Kabir Kayastha and fellow student artists as part of its annual student showcase. Kayastha, a graduate of Kathmandu University School of Arts, uses printmaking and linocut techniques to explore the emotional and cultural impact of emigration, incorporating the figure of ‘Khyah’ from Newa folklore and passports as recurring symbols. The exhibition runs until June 4 at the studio in Balaju, with free entry.
