Street Artists Take On Monumental Infrastructure in ‘Impossible’ Photos

Photographer Joseph Ford collaborates with street artists like Antonyo Marest, Alex Senna, and MadC on his 'Impossible Street Art' series. The artists create trompe-l'œil interventions on Ford's photographs of massive infrastructure sites, which he then documents on an easel placed in front of the actual location, creating the illusion of monumental, site-specific street art.

The project uses this visual trickery to engage with and reclaim imposing, often inaccessible infrastructure like nuclear power plants, dams, and highways. By superimposing vibrant, human-scale art onto these monolithic structures, Ford and the artists address the public's complex relationship with energy production and logistical networks, making visible commentary on systems that dominate landscapes but remain physically and psychologically distant.
