Sta per debuttare nella cittadina di Fiuggi la fiera d’arte contemporanea più a sud d’Italia
A new contemporary art fair called ArteFiuggi is set to debut in September 2026 in Fiuggi, a small town in Lazio, south of Rome. Organized by Nicola Monti, son of renowned dealers Pio Monti and Liliana Maniero, the fair aims to become the southernmost art fair in Italy. It will be held at the Fiuggi Convention Centre, designed by Studio Valle and previously host to the 2024 G7, and will offer included hospitality for exhibitors at two local hotels.
The launch of ArteFiuggi matters because it represents a fresh, locally rooted alternative to the often heavy format of contemporary art fairs, focusing on hospitality and a unique location. By reviving Fiuggi's historical connection to art—once home to collectors and artists like de Chirico and Schifano—the fair could help decentralize Italy's art scene and attract attention to a region better known for its thermal waters. The strong support from the local administration and the involvement of Italian Exhibition Group signal a serious effort to create a sustainable, quality-driven event.
