Fare la pennichella in una galleria d’arte? A Palermo si può, nella nuova ‘pisolineria’
Artist Pietro Librizzi has transformed Palermo's independent Rollò gallery into a temporary "Pisolineria Librizzi," or nap-salon. The project invites the public to visit the gallery not to view art, but to take a paid nap, offering various service packages from a basic rest to a sleep kit with eye masks and a personalized wake-up call.
The initiative is an artistic provocation and social commentary on contemporary life's relentless pace, hyper-productivity, and the erosion of adequate spaces for rest and leisure. By repurposing an elite art space into a site for a common, intimate human need, Librizzi critiques market-driven logic and encourages reflection on our relationship with time, slowness, and personal sanctuary. The project aims to become a replicable format, extending its reach beyond the art world.
