𓇽𓇽𓇽 CATALINA BAUER: EL VOLCÁN, LA BALLENA Y OTROS MUNDOS 𓇽𓇽𓇽

Chilean artist Catalina Bauer presents her exhibition "El volcĂĄn, la ballena y otros mundos" at the Sala Capilla of Centro Cultural Montecarmelo in Santiago de Chile, 2026. The show features an immersive installation centered on a whale-like sculptural form that has beached inside the chapel, surrounded by cosmic and natural elements such as stars, ferns, and maranta plants, creating a dreamlike ecosystem that invites tactile and contemplative engagement.

The exhibition matters because it transforms a historic chapel into a poetic, multisensory environment that blurs boundaries between art, nature, and spirituality. Bauer's work offers a meditative space for reflection on themes of disorientation, connection, and the cosmos, while also highlighting the role of care and ritual through the presence of caretakers who tend to the installation. This project underscores the growing trend of site-specific, experiential art in Latin America, positioning Bauer as a significant voice in contemporary Chilean art.
