Purdue University Fort Wayne’s College of Visual and Performing Arts broke ground on the Dorothy and Paul Shaffer Fine Arts Gallery, a $1.3 million project. The ceremony took place at the university’s Visual and Performing Arts Building, with donor Dorothy Shaffer in attendance and remarks from campus leaders and faculty. The gallery is expected to open in November 2027.
The new gallery will feature student, faculty, and alumni artwork, including design projects and senior theses, and support the university’s growing Art and Design programs. By creating a dedicated venue for exhibitions and artistic engagement, it aims to strengthen ties between the university and the broader northeast Indiana arts community, serving both campus and the public.
