Gryphon Gallery presents "Absence of Gravity" - a Robin Love solo exhibition

Robin Love's solo exhibition "Absence of Gravity" opens at Gryphon Gallery in Califon, New Jersey, on May 30, 2026, running through September 27. The show features 22 small-format oil-on-paper paintings created over the past year, half of which were made during a residency in Orquevaux, France, along with larger works and a selection of oil-on-linen paintings. It marks Love's first solo exhibition of oil paintings, following a career as a photographer and co-founder of a multidisciplinary design studio with her late partner David Derrick.

This exhibition matters as it represents a personal and artistic turning point for Love, who transitioned to full-time painting after closing her New York design office in 2021. It also serves as the inaugural show under Gryphon Gallery's new name, rebranded from The Gallery at Bex, and highlights the gallery's mission to support local artists in rural New Jersey. The show's theme of transforming loss into beauty through color-saturated skies resonates with broader conversations about art as a medium for healing and renewal.
