Art exhibit brings mental health into focus

A touring exhibition featuring work by well-established and up-and-coming Saskatchewan artists has opened at a church-turned-art gallery in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month. The show focuses on mental health themes and brings together diverse artistic voices in a small town 60 kilometres east of the Alberta border.

This exhibition matters because it uses visual art to address mental health in a rural community, reducing stigma and fostering dialogue. By transforming a former church into a gallery and timing the show with Mental Health Awareness Month, the project highlights how local art spaces can serve as platforms for social awareness and community healing.
