A Night at the museum

Artis—Naples is hosting its free Art After Hours program at The Baker Museum throughout the summer, offering free admission on the last Wednesday of each month through August from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The program features live music by local musicians and allows visitors to explore current exhibitions in a relaxed evening setting. Museum Director and Chief Curator Courtney A. McNeil and Director of Education & Community Partnerships Dave Aulenbach highlight the program's role in making art accessible to the community.

This initiative matters because it removes both financial and psychological barriers to museum attendance, attracting up to 400 guests per event even during summer months. By offering a casual, social atmosphere with music, Art After Hours encourages visitors who might not typically visit museums to engage with art on their own terms. The program reflects Artis—Naples' commitment to community accessibility and has become a beloved pillar of local cultural programming since the museum began operating year-round in 2023.
