Art students from Mansfield and Norton high schools showcased their work in a juried exhibition titled “The Future Is Now” at the Morini Gallery in Mansfield. The opening reception took place on May 17, 2026, featuring 35 pieces in media ranging from colored pencil to chalk pastels. Mansfield senior Olivia Posk won first place for her colored pencil piece “First Look,” while Connor Ingram and Tania Andrade took second and third place, respectively. The exhibit runs through June 21 and is co-curated by Heidi Cerullo and Glenn Fournier.
This exhibition matters because it provides high school art students with a professional gallery experience, offering real-world exposure and validation of their creative work. The event highlights the importance of arts education in local schools and the role of community institutions like the Mass Arts Center in nurturing young talent. It also demonstrates how juried shows can motivate students to refine their skills and develop their artistic voices, reinforcing the value of arts programming in public education.
