Art Basel has announced the exhibitor list for its fifth Paris edition, returning to the Grand Palais from 23 to 25 October 2026, with preview days on 21 and 22 October. More than 200 galleries from 41 countries will participate, including 181 in the main Galeries section—a slight increase from last year. Newcomers include Luxembourg and Co, Sikkema Malloy Jenkins, Pace Di Donna Schrader Galleries, and Tina Kim Gallery. The fair will be the first led by Karim Crippa, who previously served as head of communications. A record number of galleries are forming collaborative joint booths, with twelve pairings including Jeffrey Deitch alongside Michael Rosenfeld Gallery and Tina Kim with Take Ninagawa. Notable absences reflect market pressures, including Air de Paris declaring bankruptcy and Blum closing its doors.
This edition matters because it marks Art Basel Paris's consolidation as one of Europe's most significant commercial art events, now under new leadership. The increase in joint booths signals a strategic shift in how galleries approach major fairs, prioritizing curatorial collaboration over individual competition. However, the absence of several galleries, including those that have closed or declared bankruptcy, highlights ongoing financial difficulties in the mid-tier gallery market, even as the top end of the fair circuit remains robust. The fair's continued growth at the Grand Palais underscores the enduring importance of physical art fairs in the global art market, even as the sector faces structural challenges.
