Public Works Art Exhibition celebrates 21 years

The Public Works Art Exhibition is celebrating its 21st anniversary, presented by the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) in partnership with the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. The free exhibition features artwork from local artists and includes an Opening Night reception on May 29, 2026, with the show running through July 5, 2026, at the Arts Council's location on Hay Street. Visitors can vote for their favorite piece via the People's Choice Award.

This milestone highlights the enduring collaboration between a municipal utility and the arts, demonstrating how public service and creative expression can strengthen community bonds. By providing a platform for local artists and engaging the public through voting, the exhibition fosters civic pride and accessibility to the arts, serving as a model for community-driven cultural programming.
